Summary:

This was the first stop I made when exploring the Canadian shores of Lake Superior. Truthfully, I think you’d be hard pressed to find anything noteworthy here. However, I have it listed because it’s a great place to stop or bring kids that may enjoy the calm water and brightly colored small rocks.

Harmony Beach was a nice, warm swim spot. The shallow water extended far out into the lake due to the sandbars. I’d estimate that I made it 50 meters from the shore without the water rising above my knee.

If I could only bring 3 tools…

Chest Waders

Chest waders were the single best investment I made for exploring the shores of Lake Superior.

Agate Scoop

An agate scoop is helpful for both keeping dry and picking up rocks faster. You don’t need a fancy one. Mine is a golf club welded to a kitchen scoop.

Classifier

A classifier is helpful if you’re a fan of small agates and stones. One with a larger, 1-inch mesh would be what I’d pick.
